Dear Compatriots,

Arisenigeria, has been campaigning for the commutal of the death sentence passed on 18 Nigerians in Indonesia for a while now. Their Offence? Drug Trafficking!

Please see the link below for our visit to Indonesian Embassy in this regard.

We have written to virtually every person in authority, we thought might be in position to act on their behalf in our home government including:

  1. The President,
  2. Senate president,
  3. Speaker of the house of Reps.
  4. Minister for Foriegn Affairs and the Permanent secretary in the Ministry,
  5. The Attonney general,
  6. The first lady,
  7. Senate and House Committee on Foreign Affairs Committee,
  8. The house committee on Diaspora Affairs,
  9. Gov. of all states of affected individuals,
  10. The traditional rulers from the south eaterm states, where most of the individuals come from,
  11. Our high commissioner to the Uk
  12. the Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia.
  13. Most of the media houses in Nigeria

Aside fom the house committee on Diaspora Affairs, the High Nigerian Commissioner to the UK,  others have simply ignored us ie no replies to our letters or made any contacts.

Quite recently our Embassy in Indonesia finally responded to our numerous mails and phone calls, but that was not without both verbal and written bullying by one of the supposedly most senior official in that embassy. And worse still our Campaign director being followed to her house by unknown individual!!!

We continue to augue that yes, these individuals have committed a crime, yes, they deserve to be punished, But definitely not killed!!!

At the start of this campaign there were 20 of them, two have already been killed! They are Nigerians citizens, they deserve to be represented by their country till very end - this is the way to help the world see our country as one that cares even for its weakest citizens and most vulnerable. This brings respecatability to nations. That is why other nations do it and see this as sign of developement.

Please join us in this campaign, use all your contacts to raise the bar on our call for clemency. These citizens could be deported to serve out their time in Nigetian prison.
