Dear Sir/Madam,
18 NIGERIANS ON DEATH ROW IN INDONESIA
It is with deep regret that we write to you following our letter of May and June 2010 together with our telephone conversation with Mr Omotosho.
It is mind blowing to read the Sun Newspaper publication of 22nd July and note the fate of our fellow citizens. A copy of that report is enclosed for your immediate reference.
You would recall that during our telephone conversation we raised the issue of the 18 people on death row and sought your cooperation in dealing with the matter but you angrily referred us to Abike Dabiri on the claim that it is nothing to do with the Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia. Despite polite persuasions and pleas you refused to respond to any enquiries but rather rudely instructed that we send another letter by email which we did immediately on 10th June. To date, we have not had the courtesy of your response.
The Sun Newspaper story we referred is heartbreaking and completely unbearable. On this note we now wish to GIVE YOU NOTICE THAT UNLESS YOU STAND UP TO BE COUNTED AND ACCOUNT TO NIGERIANS ON WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS WE BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION. STOP THE ABHORENT EXPERIENCES DETAILED IN THE REPORT AND HOW YOU PLAN TO DEAL WITH THE SITAUATION IN INDONESDIA GENERALLY, WE WILL NOT ONLY CAMPAIGN FOR THE RELEASE OF THESE NIGERIANS BUT ALSO CAMPAIGN FOR YOUR INSTANT RECALL AND PROSECUTION.
Clearly, you have failed and continue to fail our fellow citizens and have shown no interest whatsoever in their wellbeing or welfare. Accordingly, we fear that you appear to lack the competence, common sense or moral to hold that position and must be relieved of it immediately.
WE ALSO GIVE YOU FURTHER NOTICE THAT UNLESS WE RECEIVE YOUR OPEN, HONEST AND OBJECTIVE RESPONSE TO OUR LETTERS WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF THE DATE OF THIS LETTER AND IN ANY EVENT BEFORE THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON THURSDAY 29TH JULY 2010, WE WOULD HAVE NO CHOICE THAN TO COMMENCE A SUSTAINED PRESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST YOU AND EVERYONE AT THE NIGERIAN EMBASSY IN INDONESIA. WE WILL ALSO CAUSE MARCHES TO BE ORGANISED AND UNDERTAKEN CALLING FOR YOUR RECALL AND PROSECUTION.
It is certain that that any responsible Ambassador or Head of Chancery who truly understands that he owes a duty which must be discharged to his fellow citizens regardless of their tribe, religion, gender or beliefs would like to avoid this type of action and take reasonable steps to avert it.
Ordinarily, this is an action we would be reluctant to take but if you are minded to sit on your exalted seat and continue to ignore our letter and the cries of Nigerians in Indonesia then that is exactly what you would see.
Please further note that we would also submit an official complaint against Mr Omotosho to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the President. ENOUGH IS SIMPLY ENOUGH. Good people great nation must act with love, concern, compassion and greatness towards one another but you have failed to do so.
Thank you for your attention.
Yours faithfully
Signed
Arisenigeria London
